Frozen roll film is specifically formulated to maintain flexibility, seal integrity, and barrier performance at sub-zero storage temperatures, where standard packaging films become brittle and prone to seal failure or stress cracking. Constructions are specified based on the storage temperature range, fill process, and distribution conditions — typical structures combine nylon for low-temperature flexibility with compatible barrier and seal layers tailored to the application.

The nylon layer provides exceptional low-temperature flexibility and puncture resistance, preventing the film from cracking or delaminating during the mechanical stresses of filling, handling, and freezer cycling. The inner seal layer maintains its heat-seal characteristics at low temperatures and provides a moisture barrier that prevents freezer burn and moisture uptake during storage.

Multi-layer structures add the dimensional stability and printability of polyester where needed, enabling high-quality surface printing and consistent machine direction tension control on high-speed FFS lines. All structures are resistant to delamination under the thermal cycling conditions typical of blast-freezing environments and cold-chain distribution.

This film is compatible with vertical and horizontal form-fill-seal equipment and can be supplied with anti-fog treatments for display applications where product visibility through condensation is required.
