Vacuum roll film is engineered to withstand the mechanical and barrier demands of vacuum packaging, where the film must conform tightly to irregular product surfaces under evacuation pressure while maintaining seal integrity and preventing oxygen ingress over the intended shelf life. Constructions are specified based on the product profile, required barrier level, and shelf-life target — structures range from flexible nylon-based two-layer films for shorter-shelf-life refrigerated applications to full-barrier foil laminates for ambient-stable products.

The nylon layer provides the high elongation and puncture resistance needed to conform to sharp product edges and irregular surfaces under vacuum without pinholing or film failure. The heat-seal inner layer maintains strong, consistent seals under the compression forces applied during vacuum chamber sealing.

Structures incorporating aluminum foil are available for applications requiring total oxygen and moisture exclusion, supporting shelf-life targets of several months under refrigerated or ambient storage. More flexible, cost-effective constructions are specified for products with shorter shelf-life requirements where transparency and conformability are prioritized.

This film is suitable for both chamber vacuum and external vacuum sealing equipment. Custom shrink-on-heating behavior can be specified for applications where a tight skin presentation is required after vacuum sealing.
