Anti-static trays are thermoformed rigid packaging components produced from static-dissipative thermoplastic compounds, designed to safely handle, transport, and store electrostatic discharge-sensitive components including semiconductors, PCBs, connectors, sensors, and other electronic assemblies where electrostatic discharge during handling poses a risk of component damage or failure. Material — PET or PP based — is selected based on the required surface resistivity, clarity, chemical resistance, and compatibility with the manufacturing environment.

Cavity dimensions and arrays are specified to the component dimensions and handling equipment requirements, with tight dimensional tolerances maintained across the full tray to ensure reliable automated pick-and-place and visual inspection registration. Wall thickness and structural stiffness are engineered to support stacking loads in automated storage systems without tray deflection or cavity distortion that could dislodge or damage components.

PET-based anti-static trays provide superior clarity for optical inspection of components through the tray, while PP-based constructions offer greater flexibility and resistance to the cleaning solvents used in controlled manufacturing environments. Both materials are available with surface resistivity values specified to ESD industry standards.

Custom tray formats including reel-and-tray hybrid configurations and lidded formats for sealed clean-room shipping are available. Material certification and surface resistivity test reports are provided for traceability in ISO-certified production environments.
