Dual blister clamshell packs provide a self-contained, tamper-evident packaging format produced by forming two matched thermoformed cavities that hinge and lock together without requiring a separate card backing, creating a fully transparent enclosure that displays the product on all sides while providing robust protection for retail display and distribution. Material — typically PET or PP — is selected based on the required clarity, rigidity, chemical compatibility, and sealing method of the specific application.

The clamshell format eliminates the backing card entirely, reducing material components and assembly steps while providing a rigid, self-supporting package that stands, hangs, or lays flat in retail environments. The locking mechanism — whether tab-and-slot, RF-welded, or heat-sealed at the flange — provides tamper evidence and secure closure through the full retail display and distribution cycle.

PET is the preferred material for premium dual blister packs where maximum clarity and rigidity are required. PP dual blister formats are used where flexibility, chemical resistance, or compatibility with specific sealing processes makes polypropylene the more appropriate substrate.

Custom tooling is developed for each cavity profile and locking configuration. Material gauge, hinge design, and lock tab placement are engineered based on the product weight, dimensions, and the retail display and handling conditions of the specific application.
